space boy 1754736472523

Cosmo wasn't like the other kids on Planet Floof. While they played bouncing-ball games with fluffy, purple creatures and built sandcastles out of sparkly moon-dust, Cosmo dreamt of stars. He spent hours gazing at the swirling nebulae through his telescope, a wonky contraption made from old watering cans and a magnifying glass his grandpappy had left him. He longed to explore the cosmos, to zoom past shimmering comets and dance with the rings of Saturn. One day, while tinkering with his telescope, a tiny, silver spaceship – no bigger than his lunchbox – zipped down from the sky and landed with a soft *plink* in his flower garden. A little green creature with antennae that wiggled like excited puppies popped out. "Greetings, Earthling!" the creature chirped, its voice like tinkling bells. "I am Zorp from Planet Glimmer. My spaceship malfunctioned. Can you help me?" Cosmo, usually shy, felt a thrill course through him. This was it! His chance to become a space boy! He carefully examined Zorp's spaceship, using his grandpappy's tools. He discovered a loose wire, expertly reconnected it, and with a whir and a hum, the spaceship was ready to go. Zorp beamed. "Thank you, Cosmo! As a token of my gratitude, I'll take you on a short trip around Planet Floof!" Cosmo gasped. He climbed into the spaceship, his heart thrumming like a drum solo. They soared over the fluffy purple creatures, who waved tiny, sparkly claws. They zipped past glowing waterfalls and mountains made of candy floss. It was the most incredible adventure of his life. When they landed back in Cosmo's garden, Zorp gave him a small, glittering star. "Keep this," he said, "as a reminder that even the smallest of us can reach for the stars." From that day on, Cosmo wasn't just a boy who dreamt of space. He *was* a space boy, even if his adventures started in his own backyard. And every night, as he gazed at the stars, he held the glittering star close, knowing that anything was possible.
